This website belongs to Sharqbites Filipino Kitchen, operated by Sharq Bites Cafeteria Co. L.L.C (“we”, “us”), Nema Residence, Al Barsha First, Al Barsha, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We handle personal data in line with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and other applicable UAE law.
What we collect
Reservation requests
When you use our reservation form we ask for your name, phone number, preferred date and time, the number of guests and, if you choose, your email address and a note. When you press send, our website's server emails these details to our team through our email delivery provider, Resend. We don't keep a separate copy on the website.
Your note may include dietary or allergy information. That is health-related data, so we only use it with your explicit consent, and only to prepare for your visit. You don't have to share it; you can tell our team in person instead.
Emails, calls and WhatsApp
If you email, call or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your contact details and whatever you tell us. Our phone number on this website opens a WhatsApp chat with a short message already typed in; nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp.
Technical data
Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical data (such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
What we don't collect
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and this website doesn't set cookies of its own. See our Cookie Policy.
Third-party services
- Google Maps. The map on our contact page loads only if you choose to load it. Google then receives data such as your IP address and may set cookies, under Google's Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab). The same applies when you follow a link that opens Google Maps.
- Google reviews. If we show reviews from our Google listing, our server fetches them from Google; your visit does not send your data to Google for this. The reviewers' names and words are published by Google and belong to them.
- Resend. Delivers reservation requests from our website to our inbox. It processes the details in the form only to deliver that email, under Resend's Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab), and may do so outside the UAE.
- WhatsApp. If you message us on WhatsApp, your messages are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under WhatsApp's Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
- Email and phone providers. Emails and calls pass through your providers and ours.
Why we use your data
- To handle your reservation request and contact you about it, at your request and with your consent.
- To answer your questions and messages.
- To keep this website running and secure.
- To meet our legal obligations, for example if a competent authority asks for information.
We don't sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or send you marketing messages.
Who we share it with
Only our team members who handle bookings, the service providers mentioned above (hosting, Resend, WhatsApp, email and phone), and public authorities where the law requires it. Some of these providers may process data outside the UAE; where that happens we rely on the safeguards the law allows.
How long we keep it
We keep reservation requests only as long as we need them to handle your booking and any follow-up, and no longer than 12 months after the booking date, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Other messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions in the law, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data;
- restrict or stop how we use it, or object to it;
- transfer it to you or another organisation in a usable format.
You can withdraw your consent at any time; this doesn't affect anything we did before. To use any of these rights, email info@sharqbite.com. If you are unhappy with how we handled your data, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to reservation details to the team members who need them. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so please don't send payment card details or passwords by email.
Children
This website isn't aimed at children. Reservation requests should be made by an adult.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if the way we handle personal data changes, and change the “Last updated” date above.
